"Hi Everyone!

My name is Shayla and I’m a second year pre-graphic design student. I’m originally from the San Fernando Valley, but I decided to study here at CSULB. I joined CKI in my first year and I had lots of fun getting to meet everyone, participate in fun events, and explore the city and its surrounding area! I decided to be on board because I wanted to gain more leadership experience for any future jobs or scholarships. I originally wasn’t applying to be the service projects chair, this was more like a last minute decision! But, I’m glad I decided to apply for this position! I enjoy helping out with planning the service events, organizing the calendar, and working together with the other board members. Organizing service events can be challenging at times, but it has taught me a lot.

I love Mexican food, it’s what I grew up with. I can’t decide on just one, so imma just make a tiny list:

Hobbies and Interests

I would say my hobbies are traveling, journaling, taking naps with my dog, collecting postcards, and reading webtoons (or e-books, this one depends on my mood). Oh, I also started exercising a lot more too!

Favorite Songs and Artists

I mainly listen to pop/pop rock, however, I don’t mind listening to other types of genres. Some artists I keep coming back to are BTS, 5sos, Bruno Mars, Dua Lipa, and Taemin. They’re my favorites :)
